The Intoxicating Sound of Mute Math’s “OK”

Some songs demand to be listened to. “OK” by Mute Math is one of those rare songs that commands my attention. There’s something intoxicating & contagious about it’s simple message.  The simple, yet textured,  layers of this song have the ability to stop me right where I am and I love it. I doubt I could ever tire of listening to this song.

It was one of the first songs I heard by the newly formed band and it shows their versatility as it follows the reggae-esque & upbeat “Peculiar People” on their first EP, Reset.  It’s a shame that only 3 of the 7 songs from that EP made it onto their debut full-length.  Take a listen to the song and you’ll see what I mean:

Since Myspace bought Imeem, I switched the song to a Grooveshark player.

Mute Math “OK”
Down on my knees down on my face
You just say it’s ok
So many days I’ve thrown away
You just say it’s ok
I don’t think I could ever repay
Your perfect grace, but it’s ok

It’s ok, It’s ok
It’s ok, It’s ok
You’ve become my embrace
Just tell me it’s ok

Your precious words intoxicate
A heart that aches; it’s ok
You don’t recall my past mistakes
You just say it’s ok
The human mind can’t calculate
Your perfect grace, but it’s ok

Even though you’ve seen a thousand times
I’ve let you down
You’re always there if I should call your name
You’re unashamed, unashamed
