The Separation Of God & Man

The greatest tragedy I can imagine is being exposed to God and ignoring Him. That’s the thing that I think separates most people from God; it is our indifference, or numbness to Him. Not being able to feel God leads to the emptiest moments in one’s life, but being separated from God is a choice we make, whether conscious or unconscious. It’s a decision to seek God or to turn to Him that allows us to experience Him. A lot of times when I sin, I feel like I don’t deserve to spend time with Him.  But it’s in those moments, that we need God most.

Once while sitting on the beach, I was asked why God didn’t speak to him. I responded, “Maybe it’s not that God’s not talking to you, maybe it’s that you’re not listening.” Wondering if God exists and if God cares while experiencing the ocean, the sunset, the beach shouldn’t even be an issue. Nature should be proof enough (but then again we interpret data based on our bias). Just thinking about how frustrating it must be to be ignored and mistreated as much as God is just breaks my heart.  This concept inspired a song ::ashes, pro tem.::

God’s speaking to us all the time, it’s just sometimes we just don’t want to listen.

Response:
passion breathes action
excitement fades
passion demands a response
passion expresses itself in values
place myself in a place where passion can be born
